About Grace

Grace Collett Art came into being at the beginning of 2020, whilst on maternity leave with my eldest son, and I haven’t looked back since! I started out doing detailed graphite pencil drawings, and then added wonderfully vivid pastel paintings to my arsenal. I've drawn everything from Cheltenham Festival winners and 5* event horses, to cheeky puppies and majestic moggies. I count myself very lucky every time I'm trusted to capture these wonderful animals that mean so much to someone.

I like to know a bit about my subject before I start, because I think it adds to the finished artwork, and I feel I get to know them by the time I’m done! I usually work from a single photograph, carefully capturing the unique expression and character of each animal. I use high quality soft pastel pencils, along with acid- and chemical-free pastel board to guarantee the longevity of the finished piece. Once the portrait is complete, and you are completely happy with it, I try to use recycled packaging where possible, before sending it on its way to be enjoyed in its new home!
